For over 60 years the Leica M full frame lenses have captured unique and iconic images around the world. The Leica M lenses interpret light and skin tones with a unique sense of clarity, colour and charisma. Now it is easier than ever to bring that character to the world of cinema.

Analog Look
The Leica M 0.8 lenses are not technically vintage, but their image profile preserves some of what has been lost in modern lens design. Their subtle centre-weighted field of focus and curving focus roll-off create a dimensionality that has always set Leica M lenses apart from more advanced optics that can be precise to the point of boring.

Natural Depth
Modern lenses pop into focus in a flat and layered manner than can be at times jarring or appear unrealistic by drawing attention to themselves. The Leica M 0.8 lenses roll into focus on a curve that more accurately recreates natural perception and the imperfection of the natural world. This creates images that feel different and dimensional, and that appear satisfying on a subconscious level.

Size Matters
The Leica M 0.8 lenses are among the smallest lenses that can be used with cine accessories on professional cameras. They open up new worlds for compact cameras, drones, gimbals and underwater camera configurations to allow your cinematic vision to expand, super lightweight and compact, but fast and full of character. They are small but have a full frame FF image circle.

The M 0.8 primes use the classic glass from the Leica M lenses, but the M 0.8 lenses have been through a cine-mod process. The aperture has been de-clicked and focus gears have been added, to optimise the lenses for cinema. The M 0.8 lenses now have a focus ring that has a standard 0.8 pitch cine gearing, the lenses also have universal 80mm fronts to ensure universal matte box compatibility (we can supply a matte box with 80mm ring). The 80mm universal fronts also have a 77mm screw-in filter dimension.

The Leica M 0.8 lenses are 35mm full frame lenses (24mm x 36mm) and they easily cover RED Monstro (FF), ARRI LF (FF) and Sony Venice (FF) sensors, and also cover every Super35 sensor too, Gemini 5K, Helium 8K and Dragon 6K, etc.

We can supply the Leica M 0.8 lenses with a RED Leica M lens mount and Leica M OLPF (DSMC2) & (DSMC1)

We can supply the Leica M 0.8 lenses with a ARRI Alexa Mini, with Leica M lens mount and Leica M modified OLPF.

We can supply the Leica M 0.8 lenses with a Sony E to Leica M mount, which can be easily adapted to Sony Venice cameras. We have Metabones Sony E to Leica M mount and Voigtlander Close Focus Sony E to Leica M mount.

The Leica M prime lenses offer a vintage look with a 60 year heritage, but also provide the convenience and efficiency of modern German mechanical design and reliability. They are oozing with character, they are small and have a fast aperture, and full frame sensor coverage.

Our Leica M 0.8 lenses are retrofit Leica M cine-mod conversions, using the official Leica M 0.8 universal fronts (80mm). The full cine-mod conversions were done by Focus Optics and the official Leica M 0.8 universal fronts were supplied by Duclos Lenses.
