OConnor have launched the lighter and more practical version of their flagship 2575D, now called the 2560 (which replaces the 2060). The 2560 features the exact same features, functions, controls and internals as the 2575D (only with a smaller main spring), so the maximum load capacity has been reduced from 60 kg / 133 lb on the 2575D to 38 kg / 83 lb on the 2560. This still more than covers 100% of every camera rig we’ve ever put on a fluid head over the last 15 years. Who wants or even needs a camera rig weighing more than 38 kg ! So the 2560 will easily more than cover every type of RED Ranger, Alexa LF, Flex 4K, Sony Venice, the biggest cameras fully loaded with the heaviest lenses we own, even then those rigs still weigh less than 20 to 25 kg, which is still half of the maximum load capacity of the 2560!

The benefit of the 2560 is that it is physically smaller and lighter in weight than the 2575D, which makes it more practical to move and carry, to transport and generally feels much less of a heavy slog than carrying the 2575D around which is pretty brutal.

Again, hence why we opted for the OConnor 60L 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod legs, they are big, strong and sturdy but lightweight and Carbon Fiber so super-easy to carry in one hand and transport (we supply the 2560 Fluid Head in an ATA Flight Case with custom foam and the 60L Tripod Legs in an OConnor Tripod Tube – so everything is super easy to transport). The 60L Tripod Legs are 2-Stage, supplied with a Mid-Level Spreader and three rubber feet. The 2560 + 60L are also supplied with both a Mitchell Adapter and a 150mm Bowl Adapter. The OConnor 60L 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod only weighs 4 kg / 9 lb however the tripod legs can support up to 95 kg / 209 lb. The tripod legs extend from a minimum height of 22.8″ to a maximum height of 60.6″ when using the included mid level spreader
